Rules of The House

DUE TO OPERATING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA THE VENUE IS NOT
APPROPRIATE FOR LARGE EVENING PARTIES/SOCIAL EVENTS

  • The hall and grounds have a risk assessment policy but it’s important you carry out your own for any event or activity you are responsible for.
  • Any of your own personal or privately hired equipment is your responsibility. The 58th Bristol Scout Group or The Scout Association will not be held liable for any theft or damage.
  • Groups hiring the hall and running activities will, if required or may wish to, have their own liability insurance as they are not covered by The 58th Bristol Scout Group or The Scout Association.
  • Please treat our hall with respect.
  • Ensure Security Gates/Fire Escape doors are accessible and unlocked during your event.
  • Music either through speakers or instruments must be kept to a minimum i.e. a sound level that doesn’t affect the local community.
  • Please be aware noise will travel if windows and doors are open.
  • Decoration – some is allowed but not so it damages, marks or stains the walls. Please make sure this is all cleaned up after. What is NOT allowed is to tamper with any Scouting literature, photo’s etc
  • Any parties or events need to be finished and cleared up by 10pm. It’s important we show respect to our neighbours – in the case of noise you make when leaving the building.
  • Those who attend your party or event need to be aware we operate within a residential area so respect needs to be shown for our neighbours and the 58th Scout Group.
  • The hall has a smoke/heat alarm – keep this in mind for your planned activities.
  • Please report any breakages to the Group Scout Leader or their representative.
  • Please clear up and take your rubbish home with you.
  • Sweep the floors, clean the tables, clean the kitchen work surface and make sure the toilets are clean also.
  • Before you leave turn off heating, lights, taps and close internal doors.
  • Scouting is a Charity run by volunteers. We allow our hall to be used by the local community as a way of contributing to the work we do with young people.
  • Please leave the hall as you found it.
